confused on to stub out plumbing

Im confused on the best method to stub out the plumbing in my basement finish bathroom. Here is what the book says for some of its projects, "Use reducing T-fittings to run 1/2" supplies to each fixture, ending with female thread adapters"

So Im wondering 1 if this is the best method, and 2, what I screw in the female thread adapter, as the book ever detail that.

Thanks,
Bryan

I assume we're talking about the vanity sink and water closet, right?

You're better off stubbing up to a shutoff valve for each supply line. That'll require a male threaded pipe or a 1/2" copper for sweat or compression connections. The fixture will connect to the shutoff valve with a pre-made flexible connector.
