Compairing PEX Manufactures and Systems
First time Poster to DIY, I am looking at converting my 60 year old Ranch home from copper and steel to PEX. This will include my drinking water as well as my FHW Baseboard supply lines. The question, I have for those of you "in the know" is: The plumbers that I have brought in to provide me Quotes on doing this recommended two different systems so it is hard for me to make an apples to apples comparison.
Plumber A: recommended Vanguard PEX and for heating PEX-AL-PEX
Plumber B: recommended Viega PEX and for heating FostaPEX
In looking at these two systems It seems that the Joining methods are both Crimp but very different kinds of Crimps.
Any insight into these two systems would be very helpful.
Its simply a matter of preferance. ford or chevy. You should be ok either way.
Just thought I'd give an update on my own question. It turns out that Vanguard is no longer in business, they were acquired by Viega this past year. So I guess my question was a rhetorical one. Vanguard Pex is still available for potable water supply but not for Heating...
