closet flange ....over the drain pipe or inside the drain pipe


should the closet flange go inside the drain pipe or should the drain pipe go inside the closet flange? or does it not matter? this is PVC and there is time for change as nothing is installed yet...thank you

Personally, I like it to go inside the drain, but it really doesnt matter. A 4X3 flange will go OVER 3" and INSIDE 4" pipe. Take your pick.

Yup..it depends on the flange and either will work. The horn will not fill any flange opening, so the waste will never be impeded by either set up.
