I have removed the j- pipe and the clog is in the pipe from there to the wall pipe. at the wall there is a T with the drain from a bathroom above. the pipe has been there since the house was built 40+ yrs. i have tried spraying WD 40 but can not get it to loosen. anything else that will help loosen it. the clog is in the pipe and i have tried a snake but can not get it out. So it's probably lint that's blocking the pipe. . .I force hot water into the pipe using a garden hose and rags as a gasket, but this works better for totally blocked drains.
