Stick your hand down into the whole and you should be able to grab chunks of glitter out until the clog is cleared.

i'm not glittered up.... the bathroom is "glittered" up.... and yeah, so, he doesn't have to deal with my glitter and........

so...... visuals make life different. you hear about tsunami's and stuff. cholera in hati. you might see pictures in media and hear stories but actually being surrounded by something like that is entirely different. you don't have to guess about the smells, the gross stuff they leave out of published media.... after the hurricane katrina, i went down to new orleans to help rebuild, clear stuff away, strip houses of dry wall, flooring, stuff. not that i am comparing this on levels of emotional stress to katrina or anything, that's not the point... when you think of a clogged toilet, you think of your own clogged toilet and barely remember much besides you're glad it worked out quickly... but imagine my clogged toilet. don't you think its really unattractive to imagine someone else's clogged toilet? now, consider actually seeing it, smelling it (i just smell drano like stuff, honestly), having to deal with it? it's just one of those things you can't unsee or unexperience.... a glitter clogged toilet. great.

The best way I find to use the plunger is to gently create a suction against the bottom of the bowl and trap opening, and then PULL with force. If it's clogged, trying to force it through with the plunger usually doesn't work, and MOST people don't use this method because it makes a mess.

What would work better is a closet auger, and if you don't have one, I suggest you get one. They're not that expensive. Save your pennies. For now, just keep plungin away.

Three rules for "tough turds".

1. Flush often as you sit there. Every time something happens.

2. Never flush anything except toilet paper... no Kleenex tissues, no paper towels, and of course no feminine hygiene products.

3. Use only "Angel Soft" toilet paper. (Yes, this is a serious recommendation.)

Also, you might flush a cup of Copper Sulfate crystals down the toilet every six months. This kills any possible tree root infiltration (it happens a lot) Buy the stuff at a Nursery, or check with a plumbing supply house.

To test whether the toilet is still clogged ...

Lift off the toilet tank cover.

Flush the toilet -- Watch the bowl and if it threatens to overflow then reach into the tank and press the flapper back down. Then quickly turn off the shutoff valve under the toilet so the small amount of water put down the tank overflow tube during tank refill doesn't break the camel's back and make the bowl overflow.

Don't shut the water off. Flush the toilet again to get the water in the bowl all the way to the top, this builds up pressure to help unclog it. Then get the plunger and give it rapid aggressive strokes, about three a second. I've never not been able to unclog a toilet this way.
