chemical free iron filter

Our well water has a very high concentration of iron and sulphide gas. We have a chemical free iron filter that usually does the trick however it seems to get plugged up with debris and stops working about once a year. Is this something I can clean myself? A plummer told me once that the hydrocharger head gets mucked up. How do I go about to clean that?

What is the name of the maker of the unit that you have? WaterSoft ?

Photo?

WaterSoft has three points that like to give challenges, the part where the air comes in, the little 6X35 tank and the valve on top of the media.

I have some that do most of the cleaning on their own and then there are others that would rather have me do it..
