can't shut off whirlpool tub

I purchased a used whirlpool tub. Filled it with water.Plugged it in. Jets work great. But no air hose connected to on/off button and motor. Can't turn it off unless I unplug it. What do I do? Buy the air hose? Or do I need a new on/off button also? Where can I purchase the part? Hose I bought @ Home Depot was too big for the motor nipple. Should I try a windshield wiper hose?
