Can't get bonnet off Delta 1400 series faucet

Apparently the cartridge had a small leak for quiet awhile, and with all the hard water here in Las Vegas, calcification has gotten into the bonnet threads. So far I have not used any liquid persuasion methods. I put one wrench on the housing so it wouldn't try to turn, and the other on the bonnet. While holding the housing wrench to keep it from moving, I pulled as hard as I thought safe to do without breaking/modifying the housing, and the bonnet will not budge (and yes, I am turning it counterclockwise lol).

So, I know what the problem is (junk in the threads) but I'm not sure the best way to dissolve that junk. What would the experts suggest?

I've replaced one of these cartridges before, but on that one there was no problem getting the bonnet loose. This one is a bear lol.

Could try soaking it with vinegar overnight or use a propane torch and heat it. Heating it will probably ruin the bonnet's finish.

Haha I don't care what the finish looks like! It's under a chrome trim piece anyways so it doesn't matter.

Try tapping the nut lightly many, many times with a hammer.

Wd40 let it soak for a little and should come off..if not cut it off without damaging the valve body. A grinder with a cutting wheel carefully cut and break away..

Well, it did eventually come off. Here's what I did:

took a paper towel and wrapped it around the housing/bonnet, strapping it on with a rubber band. Soaked that all day periodically with white vinegar, and sprayed into the threads with PB blaster. The next day, (frustrated) had my handyman buddy come over, and I held the pipe wrench on the housing while he used his very large set of pliers on the bonnet. It did eventually come off with a lot of protest. Then the cartridge didn't want to come out of the housing, so that got busted in half, and a screw went into the half still stuck in the bore. Pulled on the screw with a small pry bar and popped the half out. Cleaned up the threads with a wire brush, cleaned out the housing real well, greased the bonnet threads, and put it back together with a new cartridge. SOOO glad that thing come undone lol. I had visions of retiling a portion of the bath tub after replacing the faucet!
