Can't find 1/5 to 2" traps.

I was trying today to replace a trap I had to remove to get to a stubborn clog. The trap is old and odd, it looks like a 1/5" to 2" trap.

Lowes didn't have any (mild surprise) and the local plumbing store didn't have any either (big surprise). Are these things that hard to find?

I was able to reuse the old trap, but it wasn't easy.

I'm confused. Do you mean an 1-1/2" to 2" trap? If so, use a 2" glue trap with a 2X1-1/2" reducing bushing. Once its reduced to 1-1/2", you can use a 1-1/2" desanco (trap adapter).

Yes, I mean a 1.5" to 2" trap.

Your right, I probably could have used a 2" trap and used some kind of adapter. I didn't think of that.

But are there any 2" to 1.5" traps still out there?

You might luck out but I doubt it. Fixtures that require a 2" drain can't be necked down to 1-1/2" so it wouldn't make much sense to make it. You can easily use a PVC bushing or fernco and neck it down though...Just not the trap itself.
