Can water hammers stop water flow?

I just replaced my water pump and pressure tank. After turning on all the water valves to the house all of the faucets work except the cold and hot water to the tub. Both water lines just before the tub faucet have water hammers on them, about 12" tall by 3/4". Could the water hammers cause an air lock or would it be something else? No other faucets in the house have water hammers.
Thanks

Not going to happen.
Since you changed everthing did you remove the shower head and all the airiators on the sink faucets and flush some water throught the lines? If not the shower head may be pluged up. Worth a try to remove it and see what happens.
The trash could also have stopped up the anti scald valve inside the shower control.

You have a sediment issue.

No shower just a tub, removed all the aerators from all the other faucets and they work fine. Sounds like I'll have to cut an access hole and take out the tub faucet, wouldn't hurt to replace it anyway. Thanks for all your help!!

You can get to the scald valve from the side where the handle are not from the back side in most cases.
