Broken Diverter? Need HELP! URGENT!!!


hi, i think my shower diverter is broken. it is on top of the tub spout/facuet. what will happen is when i pull the diverter up to put it on shower mode half of it will be on shower and half of it will be on bath. i think i need to replace it but i dont know how for the only way it seems i would have to replace it would be by pulling out the entire tub spout. URGENT! NEED HELP AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! very confused

i believe if you get a good grip on that with both hands and turn it counter-clockwise, it'll come off, that's a normal looking spout to me. check the bottom first to see if there's a set screw (allen). if so, loosen or remove it first. then just go to any bigbox or local hdwr store and buy another. follow simple directions and install. =o)

As dangermouse said, it should unscrew counterclockwise. Installing a new diverter should fix your problem and is not a difficult task.
