broken ball valve stem

I have a 2" brass ball valve on my pool. The stem and handle are broken off. Is it possible to buy a replacement stem & handle? The whole valve costs $80; so I'm trying to save some money. How is it installed?
Thanks, 'Doc'

Could you take a picture of it and post? Hard to say how it's installed without looking at it.

Did you misread your post? This is painting not plumbing. Try to re-post this in plumbing forum.

The valve is $80 and sweated on. So I'm looking for an easier solution, since it is not critical and no great pressure. Doc

Check mcmaster carr item # 47865K58 $52.27 Every thing I have orderd shipped fast and for cheap. Allso dose a lot of chlorine touch the valve, I have seen brass pipes on pools become extremley britle from contacting a lot of chlorine.

You would need to remove the valve to open it ---there are two halves that are screwed together to encapsulate the ball-----

Seriously they are not intended to be rebuilt-----We used to take the 4" valves apart to scrap the brass.--Mike--
