Brass fittings with Pex

I have recently built a new house. We moved in Sept 1 2009. Since moving in, we have had 4 brass 90 degree elbows in our water lines break causing considerable water damage. The break always occurs in the same location.

We used a large plumbing contractor in our area who has not experienced these kind of issues in other homes they have worked and they didn't have new personnel working on the project. The fittings that failed "appeared" to have been installed properly but one can never tell if stress was placed on the opposing side of the 90 degree elbow during installation that resulted in cracking.

We have a well and acidic water with high iron content that is treated with a water softening and filter system.

We are struggling with how to proceed at this point. Any experience with this type of issue? Any advice would be appreciated.

replace them with teh plastic type fittings. some areas with poor water quality have had the brass fittings brake. what brand pex and fittings do you have?

Seconded. We only use plastic fittings EXCEPT for adapter fittings.
