Blockage in Leaching Field

The holding tank fills up and I am having a puddle of water seep up from the leaching field near the distrubution tank. Does this mean a blockage in the distrubution tank? How can this be checked without tearing up my whole yard?

I assume you mean the distribution box, which is a small box at the head of the leach field, typically concrete or plastic. If you can find the distribution box, it should be easy to dig up, and since it is small, it will not do much damage. That would be a good place to start checking what the problem is.
