Bleeder Valve Leak

hi,

the bleeder valve that serves to drain the pipe leading to an outside (hose) faucet during winter months is leaking.

is there a "quick fix: (e.g. - silicon tape) that may solve this problem, or does the valve need to be cut out and replaced.

we recently finished out basement and the small leak never was an issue, but now with the drop ceiling in place we need to seal this leak once and for all.

thanks for the help.

Bleeder Valve Leak

Do you have the manufacturer of the valve?

Or can you post a picture of the bleeder valve?

Some have a small rubber gasket(washer) inside the bleeder valve cap and it just may need replacement. But I am not sure if you have this style of bleeder valave.
