black pipe for a stove

I'm moving my stove to another wall. Can black pipe be installed in a wall or does it have to run through the ceiling? If it can run through a wall, at what height should it be installed?

By stove do you mean cooking stove?
Is this a gas pipe? If so yes it can be run through a wall but it's not a DIY, any gas lines should only be work on by a licenced plumber with an added gas licence or the gas company.

I think you may mean a thimble for the flue pipe...

If that's the case then there's kinds of clearace issues, and no black single walled pipe should not be used.
