Black Pipe to Pex

I have to replace a section of black pipe that is used for my hot water radiator heating system. Can I connect pex pipe in that section? Is there a fitting for going from black pipe to pex?

Black Pipe to Pex

Yes, you can use PEX tubing, but make sure it's the PEX specifically made for heating applications (it has an oxygen barrier that inhibits the introduction of oxygen into the system which can accelerate corrosion). There are brass PEX x IPS (male or female) adaptors that can be threaded onto/into black pipe or black malleable fittings.

The pipe could also be easily replaced with copper tubing.
