Best Way to Cap Rough-In Valve?

I just received my Delta rough in shower valves....in retrospect, I should have bought the version without the outlet for a tub spout.

So....how do you guys plug them?

It's threaded....but since I don't ever plan on converting a shower to a tub....it will never need the tub spout.

Do they make plugs the same size (OD) as 1/2" copper pipe?

Or do you just shove a short piece of copper pipe in there and sweat on a cap?

Use a 1/2" brass plug - 1/2" copper x male adapter, pipe and cap

Ok....you need to translate that to non-plumber language....

If I understand this correctly...sweat in short piece of 1/2 pipe...then sweat a cap on that?

My bad- or should I blame it on my iphone :)
If the valve has female threaded connections, screw a 1/2" brass male iron pipe plug into the tub port.
Or you can make a plug with a male IP adapter, piece of copper pipe a couple inches long and a copper cap. Sweat the pieces together, let cool then screw into the port. Use tape and dope of course.:)
