Battery Operated Faucets? (Delta Touch2o)

I did a search on this, but didn't come up with anything.

We are gathering the items for our minor kitchen reno (sink, faucet, disposal, countertops). There is a Delta faucet that we like, and it has the option of the "Touch2o" feature, where you can just touch the faucet and it will turn on and off. Seems neat, price difference is about $86 (Amazon), so negligible overall.

However, I have some concern about the life of the solenoid that turns the water off/on. Also, changing batteries (6x AA) sounds lame. I could always put in a DC power adapter, but that has its own set of potential issues (no use during power outage, but I could always just use another sink I suppose).

So, what are people's thoughts on this gadget? Is it worth having or will I want to buy another faucet after the "gadget-ness" wears off? Amazon seems mixed between people who love it and people who are annoyed by it.

Faucet with Touch2o

Regular version

The Touch2O faucet still functions as a regular faucet. Technically, you don't even have to use the Touch2O portion, but that would defeat the purpose of spending the extra money.

So, let's say I buy it and we are annoyed by it. I could just take the batteries out and use it like a regular faucet?

Yes, you can bypass the battery powered solenoid and use it like a traditional faucet.
