Bathtub suddenly clogged

Our tub was draining fine, not slow at all, but all of a sudden now it won't drain barely at all. It will sit for hours before the water finally goes all the way down. I dumbed some drainex down there but that didn't help at all. Any suggestions? Any idea why it went from draining like normal to completely clogged?
Thanks!

Don't put any more chemicals down your drain.

I would start with plunging it. Use a wet washcloth to block the overflow while you do it.

And if it comes to calling a plumber, make sure you tell him/her exactly what you have poured in there.

If it plugged as quickly as you say it wouldn't hurt to check the stopper linkage(if it has one). They've been known to break, especially if old and used often.
