bathtub rough in question: slip joint or glue

This is my first house and first time plumbing work. My question might be silly.

I bought a set of bathtub drain kit from homedepot. It uses 1 1/2" schedule 40 ABS pipes and fittings. Instead of slip joints, it looks like everything needs to be glued together including tail piece to P-trap.

Is it a good idea? Did I buy a wrong drain kit?

BTW, I have craw space under the bathtub. So clearance for access is not a problem.

Thanks for any suggestion!!

Another question:
Do I need to hook up bathtub drain/overflow before rough in inspection? If yes, I don't know how it's possible to plug the bathtub overflow for water test.

With everything glued, there is zero room for error. Using a slip joint P trap, at least the is adjustment up/down and sideways.

I think that you may be talking about the over flow/drain set---Same advice---You will find the kits that use slip lock joints faster and more forgiving.

They will also let you use a 1 1/2 inch slip lock P trap--much easier for the novice and easier to service from the crawl space.---Mike---
