Bathtub drain pipe

I plan on converting an existing shower to a bathtub/shower. Generally speaking, how far away from the wall is the tail piece of the waste and overflow? I plan on using a tub box to create a void in the slab; nevertheless, I want to make sure that my stub in the tub box will be in the neighborhood so that I won't have to make too many adjustments late on. Thanks in advance.

The rough should be near 14 1/2" to 15 1/2" from rough wall and 1/4" to 1/2" at edge of valve wall depending on the tub you get
