Bathtub Drain partially closed???
Hello everyone,

I'm new to this forum and sure am gonna use this site alot. I have a koeler bathtub with a American standard faucet system that is very slow draining. I went to clean the drain and it was clean, but i did notice that the handle for the waste and overflow does NOT move, it is stuck down, so i think it is shut partially closed. How do i go about taking this apart? Is there a site with a picture?

I know that i take out the 2 screws and pull out and up, but do i try to take this unit all the way out? Then clean it of any debris?

Thank you,

Yes you need to remove the assembly, if if feels stuck, a few swift tugs should free it.

If you remove the overflow plate then spray some WD40 down to loose up the stopper. Or pour some vinegar down and let it sit for a while.

That was the problem guys. I took off the 2 screws and just gave the waste and overflow a quick tug and it came right out. I cleaned it all up and put it back in, it works great. I may take it back out and put some vasaline on it.

Thanks guys,
