bathtub drain in concrete - tail pipe questions

i am setting my bathtub in a concrete basement apartment.

got an expensive brass drain assembly by gerber ($75-ish).

Q1: should i use a regular tail adapter between it and the P-trap ? if so, should i use one with or without a tapered washer ? i noticed they have the kind on which the female part is spaced to allow for a washer in between it, the tail pipe, and the male, as well as those with a female part that cannot fit a washer.

Q2: also, does the washer act as a gasket ? this will all be buried, oh by the way

Q3: how do i test that the connection between the tail pipe and the adapter does not leak under a big discharge (tub full of water being released) when the tub has an apron - cannot see the drain ?

I don't know what your drains are plumbed with... this is obviously ABS, and I'm sure they make them in PVC also. These are ~12 ish, instead of ~75 ish. They glue completely together, so you won't have adapters that can leak later....

As far as testing when you're against an exterior wall..... I don't know. We would have told the builder that we were flipping the tub, and put the drain on an interior.
