I don't know what happened came into the bathroom and my bathtub is full of black nasty water!! Nothing else is doing it and basement isn't flooding or anything!!! Have been running washer since this morning!!! Need help!!!

Ok it's the garbage disposal but idk how to fix it!!!

joecaption 01-27-2013 02:59 PM

Whats a garbage disposal got to do with the tub drain backing up?
Could be one of many things, plugged up main sewer line, septic tanks full, leach field has failed, if there's a sump pit that pumps out the sewer it's not working.

No it smells like the sewer water and has food that was put in the disposal!

All that means is the line is backed up enough to also back up into the sink.
Having a garbage disposal is one way to get to know your plumber on a first name basis or have the joy of snaking sewer filled lines.
There againt the law around here.

Not knowing your plumbing layout- I'd say your tub shares a line with the sink and it needs to be cabled- or your mainline is blocked. Do you have a floor drain on the same floor? Hows the toilet?

Toilet is fine it's just the bathtub!!

Based on the little info you give- I'd cable from the kitchen sink with a 3/8 cable long enough to go past the tub- sounds like the blockage is downstream of the tub. You can rent one from a rental center for about 50 a day. Or pay a plumber about double that- or a little more.....

What other info would you like?? Both toilets are fine, upstairs bathroom is fine, kitchen sink is fine.

beginner50 01-27-2013 03:49 PM

Well now the sinks are both coming out into the bathtub!! The kitchen and bathroom sinks are draining into the bathtub!!

It's got to go someplace if the lines pluged up.
Might want to call a plumber if this has you so confused.
Cheaper to call now before after hours rates kick in.
