Bathroom venting

Could I tie the bathroom vent fan into the sink vent pipes, or will this cause problems with gas and odor? The fan currently vents out of the soffit vent and I'd like to change that. Thanks in advance.

Bathroom venting

Very bad idea for the reasons you mentioned. I doubt it would meet code. My bathroom fan also vents out of the soffit. Not ideal but I extended the bathroom vent so that the warm moist air does not enter the soffit to prevent mold and rot. Far from ideal solution but way better than what you are thinking of doing. By the way my roof is flat and I would rather vent from the soffit than risk a leak by penetrating the roof.

Sewer fumes would come into your house via this connection.
