bathroom sink drain connection

I had a friend help connect a new sink/cabinet and the drain did not align. He cut the floor drain shorter and connected to pvc connections. Every connection leaks. I got a flex fitting but now can't figure out how to align the fittings to avoid leaks.

Sorry but I'm not following you at all. Are you draining this into a floor drain??? Posting a picture will help everyone get a clearer idea of what you've got going on.

What about a flexible coupling? They are a rubber fittings with a clamp on each end to connect two ends of plumbing. Be careful of the types of pipes your connecting though, some may not be recommended for these types of products. I know they work fine for PVC though. Most the big box stores have them in generic sizes, by Fernco or American Valve.
