bathroom faucet handles
:mad:my bathroom faucet is leaking and i am trying to remove the handle to attempt to replace what ever the problem is and i can't seem to get the handles to budge. i removed the screw on the handle it self but these things wont budge at all i sprayed the opening and all around the handle with wd-40 and let it sit and tried and still nothing. http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/a...112_094846.jpg So the following day i went to homedepot and purchased CLR and handle puller but still wont budge. The handle puller wont fit under the handle but even after spraying it with clr it wont budge. Any ideas maybe there is another screw i'm not seeing?
I even went to great lengths to remove everything underneth but got stuck at this joint and couldnt break it loose. http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/a...111_111448.jpg So right now its all put back together and leaking still  TIA |
i have been looking on alot of the common faucet websites moen, american standard and kholer but cant find this faucet.... Any advice would be great. I'm hoping i don't have to cut it off and replace it.

What about loosening or removing that black nut up underneath? When you say you removed the screw on the handle I assume you mean the set screw in the little hole on the stem?
|
yes i removed the set screw. i even tried pb blaster and still wont come off. the black plastic nut that holds the handle to the sink comes loose but go past the metal elbow. And i cant get the metal elbow to come loose not sure really how i can get it loose either. i tried channel locks and some muscle but it was a no go.

Is there a cap on top of the handle that you could pry off? Maybe a screw under it.
|
no other screw or cap. epson so is that elbow semi sealed? and needs to be cut off?
|
Don't cut anything under the sink. You'll be buying a new faucet

does the square bonnet rotate when you turn the handle?

No, you just have to try harder as it’s threaded on. |

it does spin but i can only spin it so far then it stops. i tried to spin it using it to force the handle off but it was a no go. |
