basement shower stall

I want to install a shower stall in an existing two piece bathroom in my basement. Do I have to dig into the concrete floor to do this

if the area you plan to do the shower stall does not have a rough-in ( a pipe sticking up - to ultra-simplify it) you will have to.
There are other options available in the market, i havent tried any of those, you can research onit. Sani-flow is one brand.
