Basement from hell!

I moved into the home my wife purchased before we met. The house is going to be the death of me. We can't afford to hire a professional for a lot of the things I want to change, replace, repair.

I need help! If anyone is bored or energetic about helping a drowning DIY I will post up the whole layout dilemma.

That's what this site is all about.
Post away. Pictures and location added to your profile is always a big help.

OK! So... the sewer line goes into a double y and the 2" lines on the left tie into it. The center of the double y ties into the main stack and the right of it is capped for a new bathroom

I don't know what the heck is going on, I know she/we wants the laundry room to the left and a bathroom to the right. But I'm totally lost...

The 4" stack is OK - but all the 2" is NOT to code in the least.

From what I see it looks like a lost soul did your plumbing. I would gut it and start over.

We need your state so we can help plumbing code varies across the country.

sit down with a pen and paper and map out the existing rooms, then add what you want and where.

Study some online sites or ask here in the appropriate forum about how much room is needed for different fixtures or egresses.

We can then help you with the plumbing layout- one that will function properly and pass your inspections.

You can do the same with electrical, hvac, etc. We have some very knowledgeable and helpful folks here.

Agreed. Take some measurements, start scratching down a few different ideas as far as a floor plan.

We can help you from there. Be sure to include the location of the existing drains on the drawing.

Also important : How deep is the horizontal part of that 4" stack?
