I have been living in my home for a little over a month. Around 12:30am I woke up hearing what I would describe as running water coming from my bedroom baseboard. It only lasted for a little bit and now the normal pinging sounds have returned. What do you think that sound could have been? A few days ago we plugged in the hot water circulator thinking it would keep the pipes from freezing. Could that have been a bad idea? I notice we gave super cold water at all of our faucets right away, but our baseboard heater seems to be doing a better job. Thanks.
The sound of water running through the baseboards usually indicates air bubbles in the system. Sounds like you need to bleed the air out of the system. How old is this heating system? It could be an issue with the expansion tank as well.
