I am installing a gas stove top. The cumulative BTUH for all burners on at once is about 50,000. It is a five burner, non commercial type. I need to know what size ball valve shut off do I need to install. The gas is propane and the line from the big tank is 1/2 in. copper. There is a regulator on the tank of course and a regulator before the line enters the house and then the shut off is near the appliance. The gas goes through the shut off valve and then it goes through one last small thing that looks like a regulator before it enters the appliance.
I have a ball valve that I took off the old gas range but I am concerned it isn't big enough even though it used to supply gas to my 4 burner stove and oven combo range. I think it is a 3/8 ball valve.
You are right. I have been continuing to look into the lit. that came with the stove, etc. and the whole thing calls for 1/2" including the valve. I have a 3/8" valve I thought to reuse but that is a big no no I'm told. So, I'm off to get a 1/2" valve and nipples, etc. Thanks for your reply.
