Bad tasting water from only one faucet?
Water from all faucets in the house tastes fine, except for the water from the faucet in the upstairs hall bathroom. Does anyone (license plumbers would be appreciated) have any idea why the water would taste bad from only one faucet in the house?
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks! |

not a plumber but I do have a driving license. could be a bad pipe, one that is corroded inside, take a look under the sink, see how the supply line looks, could be as easy as changing out the supply line to the faucet. Also take the aerator off and see if that makes a difference in the taste.

You probably have a contaminated faucet tip. Remove the aerator and but it in some water with a teaspoon of bleach for about 20 minutes. During that time immerse the faucet tip in the water for as long as you can hold it up to do it. The longer the better. Don't lose parts down the drain.

If the water pressure seems low too then yeah it's probably a calcium buildup somewhere around the screen.

vinegar bath takes off calcium deposits without ruining chrome finish. You can even put paper towels around stains on the handles, anywhere and pour vinegar on it to let it soak awhile!! Same with shower heads etc.

Guys, why wouldn't hard water scale be present in all faucets if it is in the one with the bad taste? And, how does scale cause a bad taste? I've never heard of that.
