I am going to be in need of replacing my 32x32 shower stall in the bath off our master bedroom. Since this is an already cramped space I barely have enough room to pull this off. The instructions and movie for this unit show that you are recommended to just secure/nail this shower surround directly to the studs not needing to use green or cemet board backer.
Because one of the side walls is the outside wall of the house, is this recommended/permitted? There will be the existing insulaiton and then outershell (cedar T-111) in front. Is it OK to put the surround on this frame or should greenboard or cement board be put there as another vapor and insulating layer?
