Question

American Standard Problem

I have one of the high-end American Standard toilets. The Champion ABFS flush valve that came with it was a pain in the butt to flush. Hard for the kids to make it work and had so much suction that it scared the bejeebers out of older folks. A friend who works at a plumbing supply place gave me a replacement tower, not the champion, that supposedly solves the problem. Well, it is easier to flush, but it never stops running now. My water bill was $60 higher after the first month with that in place.

I'm putting the original flush valve back in, but does anyone have a solution? The flush valve is a Champion ABFS, part # 3175.002-0070A

American Standard Problem

Talk to your friend at the plumbing supply place and tell him that the new flush valve he provided is defective because it doesn't shut off the water once the tank is recharged for another flush.

No one makes a flush valve that keeps running and running and running. One that does is defective.
