American Standard Cadet Faucet

Bought one of these at Home Depot 20 months ago. Hot Water side failed and literally blew out all parts, including cartridge. Home Depot Staff person said it was due to plastic threaded part inside, to hold cartridge and tap in, had disintegrated.

Looking on the Internet I fond a few others had experienced this catastrophic failure. . Changed out this faucet with another brand and doing same to to other washroom before this can occur again!

American Standard Cadet Faucet

Interesting note here :

Try going to a plumbing shop and look through their American Standard catalog for, or call and ask them to order you a cadet faucet.

See what happens.

American Standard Cadet Faucet

In Winnipeg, Canada we are not able to get parts for American Standard. (So a plumbing supply shop told me) Apparently they will mail out any parts you need free of charge. Home Depot, where I bought the tap do not have parts either!

I asked for a valve nut in metal and was told they would review my case and possibly send a completely new faucet.

Jpeg 2289 shows plastic nut that just broke in two, with little pressure applied. Could not remove it by unscrewing (Hot side) American Standard sent me a whole new faucet. I just wanted the metal nuts, which apparently are on the new faucets now! It arrived by Purolater!
