Am I right...teflon tape not needed on new faucet lines?

I am replacing plastic faucet and toilet supply lines today with braided hoses (plumber's suggestion after his last visit).

Am I correct in thinking teflone tape is not needed on the threads? The water boundary is at the compressed rubber gaskets, not at the thread to thread boundary as in a pipe to pipe fitting. This was the case in the instructions for my new dishwasher connection as well.

There was no teflon tape on the original install.

Thanks for any info.

No tape! if you do put teflon tape on the fittings it is possible that it can get in where the rubber o-rings are and cause a leak. Not likely, definately worst case but still.....
