Air conditioner condensate drain connections

Recently, the caulk/putty/whatever around this PVC piece (name: unknown) attached to my furnace developed two gaping holes on the underside (not shown), causing all condensed water to drain onto my basement floor instead of going through the PVC pipe to the condensate pump. I've plugged up the two gaps with silicone sealant (good for aquariums) and will test it when we return from vacation. Since I have no idea what this connection looks like inside, is it possible the water will now just go elsewhere and come out onto the floor in a new spot, or do you think I solved the problem? The unit is a Trane, 15+ years old.

Can not really tell from your over sized pictures. Really, can you resize them down to a smaller size.

thanks to the advice I got on THIS page: http://www.paulstravelpictures.com/H...ide/index.html

I was able to find out that it was just some gunk clogging the pipe. Once I sucked it out with a wet/dry vac, water started flowing again and I turned our A/C back on. Voila!
