Air Admittance Value

Hello, I live in Norfolk Virginia and they use 2006 IPC.

I have a kitchen sink that I plan to move to the other side of the kitchen and put it under a window. The new sink will be about 6 feet away from the main stack in the house and very difficult to vent without busting up the wall and ceiling.

I believe I have 2 options of venting the sink/dishwasher under the code but am not sure.

1.) After the 2" p-trap I will go straight down through the floor into the crawlspace, convert the 2" line to a 4" and tie it into the main stack.

Or

2.) I can install an air admittance valve on the 2" line right after the p trap and will go straight down through the floor to the crawl space and use a 2" line to tie into the main stack.

Does anyone have an idea of if either of these options would be okay under the code in Norfolk, VA?

Thank you for your help!!!!

how about an island/loop vent?

Thank You Plummen. I was considering the island loop. Under the IPC for 2006, it looks like I would not be required to do the foot vent. Is this correct?

Is there a max distance I could go from the p-trap on a 2" line if I do the island loop? I would need to go about 6-8 feet before I could connect to the main line. Or do I need to convert the 2" line to a 3 or 4" line after it goes through the floor so I can cover the distance.

Island venting is no longer allowed under the IPC up in 3 AAV clean out at the base of the stack. Some municipalities may let an island loop slide.
