Adding a valve w/o shutting down h2o

I have to cut back a cold water pipe behind the valve and I cannot get to the next valve in the line or shut down the water to the whole building. Does anyone know how I can add a valve or cap a live pipe?

if your going to untread the old shutoff out of the copper fitting there just open all the cold water in your condo and flip(thread in) a new valve on and take a slight bath...the pressure will be minimal thumb on it will stop it with the others opened.if you have to swet forget it.if you want to do compression type leave the valve open looking at cut pipe first slide nut.....compression ring.....valve ...tighten it down and close the valve.

You're going to take a Bath, no matter how you do it......
