Adding a Second Floor Bathroom in Iowa

I am thinking about adding a half bathroom to my second storty in my home in Iowa. Currently, I am planning on locating the bathroom near the vent pipe from the main floor as there is a chaise to run my waterlines up and such.

My question is, can i run my drain into the exsisting vent stack and be ok? Or do i have to run an addtional drain stack and be able to tie in for venting purposes?

You will have to run a separate waste line and use the vent for your venting purposes for the new bath.
