I am putting in a bathroom on the second floor of my house. The vent pipe, which runs through the roof, is right next to the new bathroom. It goes all the way down through to the basement where it connects into the main sewer line. Can I connect into this for the bathroom sewage from the second floor?
you should be able to do this......but you need to presurise this pipe to be sure it whole.....some of the old houses didn't give much thought to sealing vent pipes well....you can fill the pipe with water for the test if no other fixtures are attached..i would think other fixtures are attached...
Thank you Roper. We tore out the old vent pipe and put in all new 3" PVC so should be good to go.
