Adding a 1st Floor Laundry room

I have ripped up the floor and I am ready to install the plumbing. I have about a 15 foot (Max) run for waste, hot/cold water. I was thinking of doing Pex until I saw the price of the tools...While I would love to spend a 100 bucks on the crimper, I don't think its going to fly. SO my next choice is CPVC. I have never really done any plumbing and to be honest...I am scared out of my gord on this...soo afraid of screwing up and springing a leak at the joints.

A buddy of mine is telling me that joining PVC is almost fool-proof ...glue insert twist about 1/4 turn and your good to go. Is it really that simple? or do I need to be worried hehe.

Thanks

So, it's kinda of a broken record but... In my county only licensed plumbers can get permits for plumbing work = No homeowner DIY for plumbing. No permit = potential problems enumerated in many places on the forum.

Water damage is the primary home insurance claim - sure would hate to have my home-owners deny a claim on my laundry room disaster because it wasn't permitted work.

What do you have now for supply and DWV?

Here in Toronto, anyone can do plumbing... a permit and inspection is required though....

I think for actual physical joining the pipes ... no problem for anyone to do... it is in fact very straight forward...

the challenge is really the design of the drain pipe run which requires some knowledge and requires to follow some codes... but then this is not impossible to achieve for DIYers either... just a good study of a good plumbing book. For supply lines.... there isn't much code to follow... but still some few ones and will also be covered in the book....

So I wouldn't be giving up the idea of DIY so soon...
