access panel to bath

I am having my bathroom remodeled and the bath will have a granite top and the sides will be tile. the position of the taps are in the middle of the bath and the bath is right alongside the shower door. where do I put the access panel for the bathroom pipes - inside the shower? ontop of the granite - but that would look awful.
