Is it abnormal to have a sewer cleanout in a bedroom closet?

Master bedroom has a bathroom adjacent to the closet and there's a sewer cleanout in the adjacent closet wall.

Acceptable for some conditions, or bad plumbing job?

on a slab i assume but it could be there for code reasons or a good plumber who thinks i can save someone from digging up thier yard or cutting up concrete to unclog a drain in the future

Actually it's probably a good plumbing job. Could mean the plumber knew his cleanout code. Or... he expects problems in the future...
If it is not leaking, it's fine.
Take a look around a commercial building sometime, you'll see CO's hidden like Easter eggs.

I wish I had one in this exact place right now. The original cleanout of the cast iron pipe has been capped off and rerouted, so there really is no cleanout minus removing a toilet for access. Might be a good reason behind it, but either way, cleanouts are rarely a bad thing when you need one.

Do you have an upstairs bathroom, if yes ,,,test tee for inspection.. dual purposes .if no,, clean out at base of the vent thatís offset or re vented, in any case itís not a bad thing. under the IPC we have to put a C/O at the base of the stack.

Just curious because I always wonder these things myself : What good do they expect that to do you if that line is filled up to the 2nd floor?
