90$ charge to cap off the outlet of valve?

Hey guys!

We have a rental in Vegas, and the plumber charged us 90$ to place a 1/4'' cap on a valve (refrigerator water valve on wall was leaking".
Does this seem like a fair charge?
Thank you!

How long do you think a person would stay in business if the cost of doing business was not covered?

All plumbers have a minimum service call--in this area it's about $120--

So I think that's about as fair as you can get----

Could have done it yourself for less, you choose to use someone that has over head to cover.
Learn how to work on stuff yourself and you can save some money.

No he didn't.

He charged about $5 for that task; maybe $10 with the part.
The rest was for the other 100 costs and expenses you don't see.

What would you consider a fair charge?

Now that it's capped, how will your tenant get ice!?

Let me guess. It was a cheap saddle valve that was leaking.
There not even legal anymore in most places any more.
He could have changed it for a real stop for the same price and the tenant would still have an ice maker.

My area, minimum charge is $72, just to have the truck show up.

Pricing is so different from place to place----It is amazing---30 miles east is Chicago--the cost to do business there is so much higher---Just finding a safe place to park a truck could take a half hour---

Location and pricing---if only you could bring the house to the plumbers shop--that would be a real savings.

My neighbor is a master plumber. He charges $125 just to knock on your door.

Only 90 bucks. You got away cheap.

If I come out and replace the vent cap or its gasket on a stop and waste valve, its $170.00
