44" wide shower stall?

Hey guys and gals!

I'm in the process of adding a full bath to my basement. I haven't framed up the walls yet, but have done some calculations and will end up with a 44" wide area to put a shower stall. I've been looking at the big box store websites and I guess standard sizes are either 48" or 42".

Do you know of anybody that makes a 44" wide stall?

If I do have to go with the 42" stall, how do you suggest I frame out the opening? Take an inch from either side or take the full 2" from one side? I suppose it's just personal preference.

Thanks!

You're pretty much stuck with a 42"
How you get to 42" is up to you
Something else to consider- is will the unit fit through all your doors

Oh, good point! I hadn't thought about that. As long as it's a two(base and walls) or more piece I can make it work.

Why not just make your own shower base and tile everything.
