3rd Floor Bathroom Not Venting

I need some info. The bathroom on my top floor is not venting, but, the ones on the first and second floor are. I replaced the wax seal under the toilet already. I checked the vent from the roof and saw nothing. I even ran water down the vent from the roof to check for obstructions all to no avail. If someone can help me that would be great. Oh yeah, the shower in that room has not been used in months and my son just told me the air is blowing up out of the shower drain so thats wher the smell is coming from. Thanks for any help.

maybe

It might actually be venting but all the water in the p-trap under the shower or sink might have evaporated. I've seen this happen in bathrooms that are seldom used. Pour some water in each drain, open some windows and let the smell go away then recheck it in 24 hours.

As mentioned before : You have to use your fixtures occasionally or the trap water evaporates.

Glad your problem is solved, good for you, on drains seldom used, you can add some vegtable oil to the trap, this slows down the evaporation of the water.
