3/4" copper from bsmt to 2nd flr attic
How do you drill holes, thru fire stops/headers from the bsmt or attic, when they are 10 ft away in the walls?
I need to run a water line from the bsmt, up to my attic. The area around the soil pipe is too crowded, and the laundry chute/chimney is also blocked. So I need to make a new run up. Any idea's on how this is done? thanks all !! -Mark |
You'll have to cut out the drywall to drill the holes. I don't see any other way around it.

The other option is to leave it exposed, mount it to existing sheetrock and build a small soffit around it.

Just drill the holes through the fire stops and put a sleeve in.
When you have completed the job buy fire stop caulking and just caulk around the pipes real good. The caulking is approved at high temps. |
