2 faucet shower control - Hot H20 leaking

I have a Hot water handle, a Cold water handle and a Shower diverter handle.

I have replaced the seat and the control valve on the hot water side. When I turn the water on, it is still leaking around the escutcheon. It only leaks when the hot water is turned on. The seat was just brass with no washer. Was it supposed to have one? There is a seat washer at the bottom of the control valve which I snugged tight.

Help? I don't know what else to do other than taking the tile down on the wall and buying another whole shower control body. Thanks.

Always look for access from the other side of the wall before removing tile. Drywall is much easier to patch.

after you remove the stem check the outer packing nut remove the packing nut grease up whole unit put some graphite packing under the packing nut snug it as so the handle will turn and leak should disappear better yet remove both stems @seats seats are in wall behind stems you will need a seat removal wrench replace stems and seats and all the trim if you want a new looking valve I used to replace everything eccept the valve body in the wall---- check everything with water on before reinstalling the trim

Sorry Bob I am new to puters, I was recently disabled and this is a new toy, I can try to help folks in best way I know how,I might take a typing class, its been a long time since I was in school, over 40 yrs and have been workng with tools not learning to type ,I am a retired master plumber and gas fitter I picked up name elcheepo from folks calling me wanting free phone advice which I gave out freely to the ones that could understand the basics
